Mardi Gras Celebration

Our favorite event of the year:  Pancake Races on Shrove (“Fat”) Tuesday.   This fast and furious race included some great twirling and flipping and cheers from on-lookers.  And afterward, everyone was treated to fresh warm pancakes  Why pancakes?  This tradition prior to the start of the 40-days of Lent was a way to use up your rich ingredients like eggs, milk and sugar.
